Yes I am heading back out for yet another thru-hike. And yes, I am crazy. The Arizona National Scenic Trail (hereafter AZT) is a 780 mile long trail from the Mexican border to the Utah state line.

The trail starts at the Mexican border heading north through the Huachuca Mountains, wanders west for a bit before heading north through the Santa Rita Mountains in the Coronado National Forest, passing just east of Tucson before crossing the Rincon Mountains in the Saguaro National Park. From there trail continues north through the Santa Catalina Mountains (back in Coronado National Forest), heading northeast towards Phoenix through the Tortilla Mountains. The trial pass about 50 miles east of Phoenix in the Superstition Wilderness and the Mazatzal Mountains. Heading due north, it passes about 20 miles east of Sedona before going through Flagstaff. From here it continues north into and through Grand Canyon National Park. And finally north just west of Vermillion Cliffs National Monument to the state line.
I will post details as I work them out…..
